Moving Over to Heroku...
So I've ditched all my previous blogging, and moved to Heroku and set up Refinery. Before, I was just using something turnkey like Wordpress, but that was not as awesome as it could have been, and I'll tell you why.
Wordpress gives you all you need to just work. But I'm more interested in learning. I think something like Refinery has a lot of potential to give you some sort of bootstrapped content management, while simultaneously giving you all the freedom to hack around in a familiar Rails environment. And that makes the knowledge transferrable. If I want to go add in Facebook-linked comments, then that's code wiring that can be transferred elsewhere instead of just having it dropped in my lap. Only by doing the hacking around am I going to learn in the process.
